The Solanera is an amazing wine made by Bodegas Castaño, which belongs to the denomination of origin Yecla (located in the region of Murcia), and where the Monastrell grape reaches an infinite quality.
This wine has a 'Coupage' of 70% Monastrell, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Garnacha, and a 10-month ageing in barrels made of French and American oak.
Since the 2012 vintage, this wine is particularly well-known, and also a bestseller, thanks to its high rating Robert Parker has given it in his magazine The Wine Advocate, and also as he referred to it as one of the best wines in the world in terms of value for money.
It is true: a very tasty and greedy wine, light, somewhat 'sweet', and at an exceptional price.
