Dominio De Tares Cepas Viejas is made 100% from Mencía cépage.
Selection of vineyards with a production of 4,000 kg. per Ha. and 60 years old, goblet-pruned, planted on clay-calcareous soils with high ferric slate compound.
Manual harvest and selection of the grapes.
Fermentation at 30°C for 12 days.
Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
Aged for 9 months in French oak from Alliers and Nevers, new and 2nd year with a light to medium toast.

Tasting Notes:
Attractive cherry red colour with violet tones on the rim.
Powerful nose shows intense fruity aromas of raspberries and cherries, as well as flowery hints of violets in perfect combination with oak spices and fragrances of liquorice, chocolate, toffee and vanilla.
Smooth, full bodied and elegant on the palate with retronasal lingering flavours of toasted oak with a long and smooth finish.
