The bodegas of the golden mile(s) of the Spanish wine
First, we would like to clarify that great wines are produced in all Spain, but it is also true that some wine regions are more known than others. And these include La Rioja and Ribera del Duero. In both we find a few kilometers with a high density of bodegas which produce one of the best wines from Spain. They are called the "Golden Miles". In the Ribera del Duero, a denomination of origin with a length of 115 kilometers, the "Golden Mile" focuses on 15 kilometers, on the road leading from Peñafiel to Tudela de Duero. On this road you can find the most iconic bodegas of Ribera: Pago de Carraovejas, Alión, Hacienda Monasterio, Vega Sicilia, Pingus, Aalto, Abadia Retuerta, Pesquera... The Rioja has also its "Golden Mile". The first is located in the small village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, which enriches us with wines such as San Vicente, Benjamín Romeo, Macán... Another is located between the villages Laguardia and Páganos, with the wines Viña El Pisón, La Nieta or El Puntido (from the Bodega Viñedos de Páganos) ... And finally we reach the location of Haro, where the "Golden Mile of classic wines" is, and where possibly the most traditional and most historical Bodegas of the country are: López de Heredia, La Rioja Alta, CVNE, Muga or Roda. Surely it is to a certain degree also normal that these are the best known areas of the country, but we want to emphasize once again that there are many other areas, which could also have their "Golden Mile". Both, the known and the less known, are in any case able to transform their landscape into a unique artwork.
