How many grapes does it take to make a bottle of wine?
We the lovers of wine use to wonder about many issues of this drink, but there is one question in particular we hear every time we visit a winery. For this reason, today we want to answer in this blog the following question: How many grapes does it take to make a bottle of wine? The first concept we must bear in mind is that the red grape has a higher yield than the white one. As regards the red grape, we will need between 1.2 and 1.3 kgs in order to make a liter of wine. Taking into account that not all the bottles have the same capacity, but accepting that the standard format is 75 cl., in order to obtain this capacity we should employ aproximately 1 kg of grapes. Therefore, and as a general rule, every time you visit a winery and they tell us about a production of certain number of kilograms and you wish to know the number of bottles, you will have to think about this simple relationship: 1 kilogram of grapes = 1 bottle of wine.
